Resolved: Make Your Energy Our Mission

The Kind of Resolutions That Don’t Expire in February

The start of a new year often comes with fresh goals and good intentions. Drink more water. Tackle the inbox. Finally learn where all those extra passwords are stored.

At CityServiceValcon, New Year’s resolutions look a little different. Ours are rooted in the work we do every day and the responsibility we carry to our teams, our customers, and the communities we call home. As the year begins, we’re naming a few commitments to help our teams stay focused and our service steady.

Resolution #1: Keep Safety at the Center

Safety sits at the core of how our work gets done. It’s reflected in our training, in clear procedures, and in the shared responsibility employees have to look out for one another.

And we don’t just talk about that responsibility. We back it up with our Stop Work Authority. If something doesn’t feel right, employees are expected to pause the work and speak up. That choice reflects a courageous culture built on trust, accountability, and care for the people doing the work.

At the end of the day, the goal is simple: everyone gets home for dinner. As the year begins, we’re continuing to focus on the everyday actions that help make that possible.

Resolution #2: Show Up For Our Neighbors

After more than 90 new years, we’ve learned which habits are worth holding onto. One of them is simple: showing up consistently where we’re needed most. For CityServiceValcon, that looks like planning ahead, paying attention to the details, and taking pride in providing propane that helps power homes, businesses, and everyday life.

This year, we’re sticking with what’s always worked for us: teams who know the work and the people they serve. Our drivers live in the communities where they deliver, and our offices are staffed by your very own neighbors who know the customers and the terrain. When you call, you reach someone who understands the work and feels accountable for it, and who just might wave to you in the grocery store aisle. That local connection is what allows us to serve thoughtfully and follow through.

Resolution #3: Take Care of Our People

The work we do depends on the people doing it. That’s why one of our priorities for the year ahead is to continue backing our teams with what they need to do their jobs well. From hands-on onboarding and ride-alongs for new employees to ongoing training and shared safety insights, we focus on giving our folks the tools and confidence to make good decisions in real-world conditions.

We think of our teams as part of a larger family tree, one rooted in trust, reliability, and looking out for one another. When employees feel listened to and supported, they bring that same care and attention to our customers. It’s how we grow and succeed together, and it’s a resolution we’re proud to carry forward.

For the Long Haul

As we step into 2026, these resolutions help us stay grounded in what matters most. Working safely. Showing up locally. Supporting the people behind the work.

These are the same values that have shaped us since 1932, and they’ll continue to guide how we serve our customers and communities in the future.

If you’re planning for the year ahead, our local teams are always here to help. Find your nearest CityServiceValcon office to connect with the team in your community.
